BAD NEWS

The only B-side that became a hit: Bad News of DBM&T. In Mexico a Disc Jockey liked this song so much, that he played it frequently on the station Radio Capital. The DJ (locutor in Mexico) was César Alejandre and the program was "Estudiantes 1260"
And it became a hit in Mexico! There was even an album, released in this country, with songs of Dozy, Beaky, Mick and Tich.
The lyrics of Bad News were hard to get, but with the assistance of Ron Cooper and Dozy we got hold of them:

BAD NEWS
Listen to me girl ain't goin' to bore you no more
You aren't goin' to screw up like you did before
Don't give a toss if it brings you down
You're a clapped out groupie that's messin' around

You're bad news bad news bad news bad news

WE CHANGED 200%

In an interview DBM&T's Mick says about the split-up of the band: We've changed 100 percent, in fact I'll correct that and say 200 percent. Nothing is the same, things have been difficult during the last nine months, but now the direction has been found. Now we look back upon the split as being a tremendously good thing.
During out times with Dave Dee everything was done for us. We had composers and A&R men surrounding whatever we did, and therefore there was little chance to attempt originality.
Now we are writing an awful lot, and doing everything for ourselves. 'Mr. President' is purely the beginning of what is to come, said Mick Wilson.

Below an article from the Dutch magazin Muziek Express nr. 165 September 1969

HERE WE GO

Dozy, Beaky, Mick and Tich have recorded one record that was never released officially: Here We Go / Here We Go Again.
In the Zabadak magazine Ron Cooper writes that it originally was Dave Dee's idea, but he lost interest in it. No major label seemed interested, and then there was the New Zealand tour, and so it died a silent death.
As an alternative a number of copies were pressed up to sell at gigs, but then with Everton FC releasing their version, they decided to abandon this idea as well.
Nevertheless there are a number of copies floating around with pleased owners.
The song is also released on CD: Borussia Mönchengladbach Der Hit 1, 1997 RSC Records LC2997, credited to 'Dave Dee - Borussia Here We Go.
Licensed from: Double D records.

WHY THE NAME: DBM&T?

Mick Wilson about choosing a name after te split-up: "We had a choice of changing our name completely, or keeping the same name and getting a record out. It could have taken two years of playing in getting recognised with a new name.
I think we made the right decision."
