IF NO-ONE SANG COVERS
Peter Thorogood - Haunted / If No-One Sang (Pye 7N 17.577) 12/07/68
Here is another one-off signing by Howard & Blaikley, an artist of which very little is known. He released one single on 12 July 1968, with both sides written by the managers/songwriters team:
“Haunted” / “If No-One Sang” (Pye 7N 17.577)
The A-side is a jolly whimsical psychedelic track, good enough to give its title to a current re-release CD-compilation of “Psychedelic Pstones” by better known groups like Marmalade, the Tremeloes, the Rockin’ Berries, Status Quo and more.
The B-side is a cover of the Dave Dee, Dozy, Beaky, Mick & Tich intro and outro to their 1968 album, extended to 2’22.
A promo picture of Peter Thorogood playing the violin and entitled “The Haunting Summer Sound Of Peter Thorogood” can be found on the July ’68 page of the wonderful Marmalade-Skies website: http://www.marmalade-skies.co.uk/jul1968.htm
