OVER AND OVER AGAIN COVERS
She Trinity - Across The Street / Over And Over Again (CBS 2819) 6/67
Originally a Canadian trio with Robyn Yorke (drums), Shelley Gillespie (guitar) and Sue Kirby (keyboards). They came to England in 1965. Marion Hill replaced Sue, and Pauline Moran joined on bass.
In 1966 they were a quartet: Robyn Yorke (dr), Shelley Gillespie (gt), Marion Hill (kb) & Pauline Moran (bs). They cut 4 singles for Columbia. Their third single may claim the longest title award with “The Man Who Took The Valise Off The Floor Of Grand Central Station At Noon”, also covered by David Garrick. Eileen Woodman replaced Marion in 1967. By this time Shelley had gone back to Canada.
So in 1967 they were a sextet with two drummers: Robyn Yorke & Janet Baily, Pauline Moran (bs), Eileen Woodman (key), Barbara Thompson (sax) & Beryl Marsden (voc). Beryl had released some solo singles and been a member of Shotgun Express with Rod Stewart. This was the group that recorded the cover of Dave Dee, Dozy, Beaky, Mick & Tich on CBS, produced by Steve Rowland.
Janet and Barbara left in 1968. Maxine Silverburg replaced Beryl, and they changed their name to "Gilded Cage" for one single. The final lineup was Eileen (kb), Robyn (dr), Pauline (bs) and a Swedish guitarist named Inger Jonnsson and they rechristened themselves She Trinity. The band split in 1970/71.
